Yuhuuuu!! Edri is bloging again.. Yay!!
Wow, there are so many things to write; so many stories to tell. I really don't know where to start. Should I write first about how I manage to do a presentation of a business plan that I made in four days instead of four months, or about how I got my driver license on the first driving test I took? Or perhaps I should write first about how last weekend was a blast. Wait, that last trip I took to California to attend the special talk in El Monte Indonesian Congregation is also a story worth telling.. Man, I can’t make up my mind.
Okay. How about I write a little bit about everything? I’ll make a summary of all the things that has happened this past month, and also of the things that I’m looking forward to happen soon.
Here’s what happened while I was busy with life and didn’t have the time to update my blog.
In the end of April, the whole Indonesian group of Vegas (well, almost the whole group) went to El Monte Indonesian Congregation to attend the special talk. Brother John Pane gave the talk and he did a great job, of course. The awesome part about it is that I get to hear a talk in my own language! It’s been almost a year since I left my home sweet home country; I really missed my mother-tongue spiritual food.
The whole trip was excellent. We went out service with the friends from El Monte to search Indonesian people. We hang out at the Universal City Walk in Hollywood and ate dinner at Hard Rock Café there (party of 28). I met some awesome new friends and ate some Indonesian food. Conclusion: it was great.
Coming home from California, hectic stressful days were waiting for me. I was supposed to present a business plan in front of a class in four days. It’s not just the presentation part that really wrecked me; it’s the fact that I haven’t made the business plan, an eighteen-page paper full of analysis and financial projections.
Well, somehow I managed. I had lack of rest and sleep, but everything was done by that Thursday and I made the presentation successfully. Before the day I made the presentation, an exciting thing happened.
My sister and I decided to go to DMV and do the walk-in driving test. We did had a driving test appointment, but it was weeks to come and we couldn’t wait that long. Most people had to take the driving test a few times before they passed and got their driver license. But an experienced Indonesian driver who has been driving in the Jakarta Jungle for six years like me? One is all I need. Hahaha I am so not humble right now..
Anyway, on the day I made the presentation, my sister and brother-in-law went to Texas. So that day I came home to find the house completely empty, and creepy. I had a hard time trying to sleep that night. I was scared because I was completely alone in the house, plus I watched two episodes of CSI just before I tried to sleep. Go figure.
The first two days of their trip to Texas was hard on me. I was lonely and had nothing to do. But in the weekend, I finally got busy and had a great time.
Saturday I went to the Indonesian book study. And then I went out service with the group to finish their ASL territory. After that, I ate lunch with them at a cute Hawaiian Restaurant and then I went home. I quickly changed clothes and went out again to attend my Saturday meeting in Summerlin. After the meeting I went to Nicole’s to have dinner with her family (actually, I kind of invited myself haha), and then I went straight to Gold Coast to play bowling with friends. After the bowling we all went to In and Out and hang out there for a little while. I got home at 12.35 am and dead tired.
Sunday I went to the service meeting and got myself a partner for service. I went out door-to-door and then did some calls. I went home just to change clothes and then I picked up Jasmine to go to the movies. At Sun Coast, I met the rest of the group and then we saw the MI-3 movie. It was a great action movie; I liked it. We hung out a little bit after the movie, and then I went home. I did this online exam that I’m supposed to do before Monday. It was easy and I was done in an hour or so. Around eight at night I went to Starbucks to say hi to Nicole (she was working) and to meet BJ there. Then, I and BJ went to a park near my house to swing. I enjoyed it. Swinging is fun! After a while, Jasmine called and said that she was done with her shift at Starbucks, so I and BJ came there and picked her up. After that, the three of us went to the Pane’s to meet more friends there and just hung out there and play cards. I got home around 11.45 pm and my sister and brother-in-law was already home.
I think I’ve covered all the stories I wanted to share. I’ll write again soon to tell about the things I’m looking forward to happen.
[ to be continued guys.. ]
